Wiggle Budget + Questrade
Questrade holds the investments. Wiggle Budget plans the month.
Questrade is a Canadian brokerage, and at its first product showcase in November 2025 it announced balance sheet and cash flow tracking among fourteen new tools for investors. That is account-side reporting: what you hold and what has moved. Wiggle Budget answers the question before it, across everything you have: what is already committed this month, and what is genuinely safe to spend or move into the market. Canadian-built, and the two sit beside each other.

Questrade is great if…
Questrade is a brokerage: self-directed trading, registered accounts and portfolios, with reporting on what you hold there. If your question is about investments, that is where it belongs.
Wiggle Budget fits if…
Wiggle Budget fits the question underneath an investing decision: after rent, the card payment and everything else dated this month, what is actually free to contribute, and on which day. It is manual by design, so it covers accounts no brokerage can see.
Questrade alternative: common questions
Does Questrade do budgeting?
Questrade is a brokerage. In November 2025 it announced balance sheet and cash flow tracking as part of a set of new tools for investors, which is reporting on money at Questrade rather than a forward plan for your bills. Check its own pages for what has shipped since.
Can I use Wiggle Budget with Questrade?
Yes, and they do different jobs. Keep investing at Questrade; use Wiggle Budget to project your balance across every account by date and see what is safe to contribute before the money is spent. Wiggle Budget is manual, so nothing needs linking.
Do I have to connect my brokerage or bank?
No. Wiggle Budget has no bank or brokerage login at all. You enter what you know, which is also why it can hold things a feed cannot see yet, like a transfer you have just made or a bill you know is coming.
Is a projected balance a guarantee?
No. It is arithmetic over the entries and assumptions in your plan. Change a date, miss a bill or have income arrive late and the outcome changes. Every formula it uses is written out on the calculations page.
Why people move to Wiggle Budget, and how to check it
Questrade is a real product with real strengths, described above. What follows is not a claim that one tool beats every other: it is the four things about this one that can be verified before paying anything.
No bank login, at all
There is no connection to your bank, no aggregator, and nothing to revoke. You enter what you know, which is also why the plan can hold a transfer you made a minute ago or a bill you know is coming.
The maths is published
Every figure comes from a formula written out in the open: balances, projections, safe to spend, debt payoff and interest, with where each one runs. You can check the arithmetic against your own numbers.
Built from the awkward parts
Transfers that are neither income nor spending. A payment the bank has not taken yet. A bill that lands on the 15th when the template says the 21st. A month where a recurring payment never made it onto the timeline. These exist because they happened.
The free plan has no timer
Tracking, running balances, and importing your own data are free and stay free — bringing your numbers in is not the thing we charge for. Paid plans add projections, debt tools and the assistant, and the prices are on one page.
