You log entries (or reuse payment templates), and the app projects your running balance day by day, flags the lowest point ahead, and shows the surplus you can use without creating a future shortfall.

Does it connect to my bank?

No, and that is deliberate. Wiggle Budget is manual by design: no bank logins, no read access to your accounts, no third-party data aggregators. You decide exactly what enters the app. The trade-off is a little upfront setup; the upside is full control and far less data exposure.

Is there a free version?

Yes. The Free plan covers manual tracking, running balances, bank-account tracking, the spreadsheet view, and CSV/JSON import & export. Every new account also starts with a 30-day Pro Max trial so you can try the advanced tools first, with no card required.

How long does setup take?

A few minutes to add your accounts and recurring bills as payment templates. After that, day-to-day use is fast: most check-ins are just confirming an entry is done or adding a one-off.

How is "safe to spend" calculated?

Spending today shifts every future day down by the same amount, so the true safe amount is the lowest point your projected balance reaches over the window you care about, not your current balance. Wiggle Budget walks your timeline, finds that lowest dip, and shows it floored at zero.

What is the difference between "safe through" a date and "safe on" a date?

"Safe through [date]" answers: how much can I spend today and still stay positive every day until that date. "Safe on [date]" answers: standing on that future day, how much is safe to spend then , the lowest point from that day forward across your remaining scheduled activity. Both use the same lowest-dip logic, just from a different starting day.

Does the projection include recurring bills?

Yes. Payment templates and recurring entries are expanded into future occurrences and included in the timeline, so an upcoming rent or card payment lowers your safe-to-spend before it actually hits.

Can it help me pay down debt?

Accepted Answer

Yes. You can track each debt with its balance, APR, and minimum payment, compare snowball vs avalanche payoff strategies, log payments that reduce the balance, and watch interest accrue over time. Credit cards are modelled as debt, so charging to a running-credit card raises that debt rather than spending cash.

How are savings handled separately from chequing?

Savings accounts are kept out of your chequing/operating summaries by default, so protected cash is not mistaken for spendable money. They are shown distinctly (with a green treatment) so you always know what is truly liquid versus set aside.

Can I move money between accounts and cards?

Accepted Answer

Yes. There is a transfer tool for moving between accounts and for paying down a credit card from an account, and card payments go through the same balance-reducing logic so your debt and cash both stay accurate.

Is my financial data encrypted?

Yes. Sensitive financial fields are encrypted at the field level using OpenPGP symmetric encryption, so the raw numbers are not stored in plain text. Traffic is protected with TLS, data at rest is AES-256 via Supabase, and Row-Level Security isolates every user’s data from everyone else’s.

Do you sell my data or show ads?

No. We do not sell your data and there are no ads. We never collect bank credentials because the app never connects to your bank in the first place.

Can I get my data out?

Accepted Answer

Always. Export your budget entries, debts, and payment templates as CSV at any time from inside the app , on every plan, including Free. Your data is never held hostage.

What do the AI tools do, and which plan has them?

Accepted Answer

Pro Max includes 100 AI uses per month across four tools: a receipt scanner, payment-template extraction, debt analysis, and expense analysis. They speed up data entry and surface insights. Free and Pro do not include AI usage. Everything in the app still works without AI , the tools are accelerators, not requirements.

What happens after the 30-day Pro Max trial?

You keep your data and drop to the Free plan automatically unless you choose to subscribe. Nothing is deleted, and Free remains fully usable for manual tracking, projections, accounts, and the spreadsheet view.

How do I cancel?

Accepted Answer

Cancel anytime from Profile Settings → Subscription. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period, and you keep access until then.

Question 17

Why does the pricing page show different prices sometimes?

Accepted Answer

Early adopters get launch pricing that is lower than the standard rate. The live price and any remaining promotional spots are shown on the pricing page, and the plan that applies to you is whatever was active when you subscribed.
